Hemet Model Masters started the new year off with a bang with a very successful Jet Event. Some of the best jet pilots from all over the region participated. Member Neal Smiley who helped organize and recruit pilots to the event was able to get some of the vendors to donate some pretty amazing prizes for the auction. Neil also got his fellow pilots to sponsor the awards that were handed out. Many Club Members and others helped out. Jay Davis, Eddie James, Richard Lawrence and his wife Dawn helped with the food which everyone seemed to be very pleased about and especially the Turkey dinner Saturday afternoon. Mario Muniz ran around getting BBQ grills from all over the valley, signs made, shirts for the event, and setting up a host hotel. Thanks go out to all who helped make this a great event. The club was able to raise over $5,000 towards the runway repaving project planned in the future. All in all, it was the biggest success we have had as a club. Another jet event is planned for sometime in June. News to follow.
