Carl Landou
President
Carl grew up in Anaheim CA. His dad built his first radio. He started Carl flying u-control at five. When Carl was eight years old, he got a single channel galloping ghost radio. Push the button once for right and twice for left. And that air-plane flew away. At age 10 he got a RS five channel. His Dad designed Carl a trainer and they scratch built it together. His dad would take him to Mile Square and he remembers meeting Mel Santmyers. Carl was 7 years old at the time. Carl has flown and competed in almost all disciplines of model flight. He loves aircraft of all types. In the past he designed and kitted a Slope glider and started the La Sierra Slope Soarers club.. He is honored to have been elected President of Hemet Model Masters.
Stewart Robinson
Treasurer
A member since 2010, Stewart has had a life long fascination with model building. He became particularly interested in RC planes while working as a structural mechanic on full-scale aircraft in the Navy during Operation Desert Storm. He credits a friend, a retired Air Force engineer, with introducing him to building RC planes from balsa, epoxy and plans. He was attracted to the club because of the nice runway and open flying field. He loves flying aerobatic planes and scale warbirds and his favorite plane currently is a 35% AeroTech Slick-540 (120cc gas). As Treasurer, the club is well served by his MBA from University of Redlands.
Mario Muniz
Secretary
Mario has been fascinated with airplanes for as long as he can remember. His first was a control line model when he was 11 years old. He began flying RC planes in 1982 and has been active ever since. Mario joined Hemet Model Masters in 2008. He says he enjoys flying just about everything including Warbirds, Sport and 3D as well as helicopters (of which he currently has 3). Aside from pure enjoyment of the hobby, Mario says he enjoys the fellowship with other members of the club. He is also one of the club’s principal instructors. Along the way, he has earned a number of AMA titles including Flight Leader, Gold Club Leader and Contest Director.
Steve Staudenmeir
Secretary and Webmaster
Steve has been interested in model airplanes since a child. His first plane was a Cox .049 Grasshopper which he crashed and destroyed on his first flight. His next plane was Cox PT-19 trainer which he had much more success with. He got into RC about 5 years ago beginning with a little orange Champ which he managed to crash immediately after takeoff on his first two flights. His third flight was a success however and he has been flying regularly ever since. He particularly enjoys glow and gas powered planes and recently graduated to 30cc size. Steve loves the friendliness of the club and he has developed close friendships with a number of members. Like many in the club, he loves helping and encouraging others and young people in particular.
